Well it's wanted land. The sand dunes on the Menie Estate near Aberdeen are a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and are also a special interest to Donald Trump, of bouffant hair and the Trump Organisation.
He wants to build a golf course across the land and a holiday village to house 5000 or so in huge towers.
To some he's offering to pour millions into otherwise desolate landscape. To others he's destroying beautiful coastline for dubious gain. And he's trying a compulsory purchase order on the handful of houses that inhabit this landscape. The homeowners are fighting him, but the politicians are in thrall to the yank with the cash.
